Making an All Purpose Salve
What you will need:
1/2 cup each organic coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, 1/4 cup beeswax pellet (adjust to the desired thickness) 1/2 cup dried calendula flowers (you may substitute dried lavender or arnica), 20 drops lavender essential oil, 15 drops tea tree, and 10 drops myrhh essential oils.
Instructions:
Add the oils to a crock pot (I have learned to love my crock pot when making salves or balms) When the oils are melted add the flower petals of your choice, let simmer on low for about an hour occasionally stir. Turn off the crock pot straining the flowers from the oils by using a cheesecloth. Add the processed oil back into the crock pot and add the beeswax pellets. After the beeswax has melted once again remove from the crock pot. Let it cool for approximately 15 minutes. Add the essential oils gently stirring in a clockwise motion. Pour into an eight ounce sterilized jar and store. Date and label you creation.
Tip: I like adding an ovenproof container one that is large enough to fit all ingredients and small enough to fit into my crockpot. I have found for the crock pot i like to use a 16 ounce measuring cup works very nicely and I can easily pour the contents through the cheesecloth. You'll soon find what works for you. Add different flowers and essential oils for your own signature mix. Enjoy!
